Camp Efigenio C Navarro, Calapan City- One hundred twenty - five (125) PNP personnel of Police Regional Office MIMAROPA participated in the outreach project of the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) MIMAROPA dubbed as “Isang Puso, Isang Handog” in the Mangyan Community in Sitio Malmis, Barangay Baras, Baco, Oriental Mindoro.
At about 6:00 AM of February 14, 2013, joint government agencies from the Philippine National Police (PNP) led by PSSUPT MAMERTO VICENCIO VALENCIA, Chief, Regional Police Community Relations Division, together with PSUPT MARISSA SORIANO BILLOTE, Chief, Health Service 4B, PSUPT IMELDA V TOLENTINO, Chief, Regional Public Information Office concurrent Chief, Women and Children Protection Desk, PSUPT JAYCEES DS TOLENTINO, Company Commander, Provincial Public Safety Company, PCINSP JUAN D CALALUAN, Chief, Provincial Police Community Relations Branch, Mindoro Oriental PPO, PINSP ARSENIO DE GALICIA ABO, Chief of Police, Baco Municipal Police Station, personnel from the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) led by COL. JOHNNY MACANAS, Assistant 203rd Brigade Commander, Philippine Army and the concurrent Task Force Commander SANDUGO, and employees of National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) 4B led by DIR REMEGIO MERCADO proceeded to Sitio Malmis, Barangay Baras, Baco, Oriental Mindoro for the conduct of the said activity . The group hiked through the four (4) kilometers steep ascents and descents terrain going to the said place.
A courtesy call to the Mayor of Baco, Oriental Mindoro was made before the group jumped-off to Sitio Linao, Cawayan Junction going to Sitio Malmis, Barangay Baras, Baco, Oriental Mindoro.
The PNP Medical and Dental Team provided medical and dental services to one hundred eighty (180) Mangyan pupils of Malmis Elementary School and eighty (80) families of Sitio Malmis while the NEDA 4B employees distributed slippers, soap, shampoo, toothbrushes and school supplies. Further, the AFP provided lunch for the beneficiaries.
