Camp Efigenio C Navarro, Calapan City –The PNP Police Regional Office MIMAROPA celebrates today it’s 21^st Foundation Anniversary held in front of PRO MIMAROPA Admin Building, Camp Efigenio C Navarro, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro, with Congressman ELEANDRO JESUS F MADRONA, Representative, Lone District of Romblon as the Guest of Honor and Keynote Speaker.

The celebration was formally started by a thanksgiving mass officiated by Rev. Father Cenon Garcia, Parish Priest, Brgy. Lazareto, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro.

Among the highlights of the celebration was the launching of a special tree planting project of the PNP dubbed as Pulis Makakalikasan: 10 Milyong Puno Pamana sa Kinabukasan, wherein each of the 4, 207 strong police personnel of MIMAROPA shall plant 6 trees a month for a span of one year starting from February 01, 2012 until February 28, 2013. A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between Department of Environment and Natural Resources 4B (DENR) represented by Regional Executive Director CONCORDIO D ZUÑIGA and PNP PRO MIMAROPA represented by Regional Director HICBAN was signed during the said event.

Afterwards, Inauguration and Ribbon Cutting of the PRO MIMAROPA MULTI-PURPOSE HALL followed by “Padyak para sa Kapapayapaan” which showcase the partnership of PNP and civilians in addressing criminality and maintenance of peace and order. The 16-km bike route within the periphery of Calapan City was participated by PRO MIMAROPA personnel led by PCSUPT ARTEMIO HICBAN, Regional Director, Provincial/Local Chief Executives, NGO’s, NGA’s and other civilian bikers/guests.

Congressman MADRONA was assisted by General HICBAN in giving awards to deserving PNP personnel in appreciation of their arduous performance in the campaign against illegal mining in the region. PNP Efficiency Medal was given to POLICE INSPECTOR MARFREDO B DULATRE during the successful conduct of operation against illegal mining which resulted in the apprehension of thirty-six (36) persons and confiscation of small scale mining equipment. Also, PNP Commendation Medals were given to PNP personnel from the different MIMAROPA Provincial Police Office (PPO) in recognition of their achievements in various anti-criminality programs of the PNP.

Congressman MADRONA, in his message recognized the PNP as its partner in one common goal of ensuring transparency and accountability in the PNP. He also stressed that the main goal is to give best SERVICE, put heart to our work and with HONOR and serve JUSTICE with impartiality. “May you continue to be our comrades in the delivery of services and further your community relations in your respective areas of assignment for the good of our people,” he ended.
