Camp Efigenio C Navarro, Calapan City –The PNP Police Regional Office MIMAROPA celebrates today March 19, 2012 the National Women’s Month with the theme: “Women Weathering Climate Change: Governance and Accountability, Everyone’s Responsibility” coinciding with the Traditional Monday Flag Raising Ceremony held in front of PRO MIMAROPA Admin Building, Camp Efigenio C Navarro, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro, with Honorable MARIA ANGELES C CASUBUAN, Municipal Mayor of Naujan, Oriental Mindoro as the Guest of Honor and Speaker. The celebration is in support of the recent disasters and calamities experienced by the country and the impact of the climate change observed and experienced globally and aims to build gender-responsive, resilient communities to be responsible and accountable, and be prepared for any disaster that may come their way.
The highlight of the celebration was the awarding of Medalya ng Papuri (PNP Efficiency Medal) to deserving Policewomen of PRO MIMAROPA led by PSUPT IMELDA V TOLENTINO, Chief, WCPD and five (5) others who have demonstrated exemplary efficiency, loyalty and devotion to duty rendered during the successful conduct of specialized course for Women’s and Children Protection Desk (WCPD). Also, Medalya ng Papuri was conferred to SPO1 Michelle D Saway for her exerted effort initiating the Family Juvenile Gender Sensitivity Development Desk (FJGSDD) outreach program with the out of school youth, women’s group and children of Brgy. Sta. Maria, Naujan, Oriental Mindoro.
Mayor Maria Angeles C Casubuan, in her message recognized the role of women as powerful agents in the need for environmental sustainability and she encouraged everyone to cooperate and support the government’s program to combat the harmful effects of climate change. She also stressed that “Peace and Order situation in the society depends on police integrity and further encouraged all policewomen to work hand in hand to attain the goal of equal opportunities as same with men”, she ended. |
