Camp Efigenio C Navarro, Calapan City –Pursuant to the Police Regional Office MIMAROPA, Philippine National Police (PNP) – 2ID, Philippine Army (PA) Joint IMPLAN 0/2011 and Resolution Number 9561-A, the first Regional Security Control Center Coordination Conference was conducted to ensure unity of efforts between the military and the police in addressing peace and security concerns in MIMAROPA region especially for the forthcoming May 13, 2013 National and Local Elections.
During the said conference, Atty. Manuel Ignacio, Chairman of the Regional Joint Security Control Center/Acting Regional Director, COMELEC 4B thoroughly discussed topics on The 1986 Philippine Constitution, Republic Act 6975 (An Act Establishing the Philippine National Police under a reorganized Department of the Interior and Local Government and Other Purposes as amended by RA 8551 Philippine National Police Reform and Reorganization Act of 1998 and further amended by RA 9708), RA 7160 (1991 Local Government Code), RA 9369 (Automated Election System), COMELEC Resolution 9385 - Calendar of activities and periods of certain prohibited acts in connection with the May 13, 2013 National and Local Elections, COMELEC Resolution 9608 – (In the matter of amending Resolution No. 9561-a otherwise known as the “Rules and Regulations on (1) The ban on bearing, carrying or transporting of firearms or other deadly weapons; and (2) The employment, availment or engagement of the services of security personnel or bodyguards during the election period for the May 13, 2013 Automated Synchronized National, Local Elections and ARMM Regional Elections, as amended), COMELEC Resolution 9570 – (Deputation of the Armed Forces of the Philippines for the purpose of ensuring free, orderly, honest, peaceful and credible conduct of the May 13, 2013 National and Local Elections), COMELEC Resolution 9571 – (Deputation of the Department of the Interior and Local Government, including the National Police Commission, the Philippine National Police, and other Law Enforcement agencies to ensure honest, orderly, peaceful and credible conduct of the May 13, 2013 Automated National and Local Elections), COMELEC Resolution 9586 ( In the matter of exercising supervision and control over the Philippine National Police in connection with the May 13, 2013 Automated Synchronized National, Local and ARMM Regional Elections), COMELEC Resolution 9587 (Instructions to Chiefs of Police of Cities/Municipalities on the conduct of the preliminary examination on the violation of the bans on firearms, other deadly weapons and security personnel in connection with the May 13, 2013 Automated Synchronized National, Local and ARMM Regional Elections), and COMELEC Resolution 9588 (Guidelines on the establishment and operation of COMELEC checkpoints in connection with the May 13, 2013 Automated Synchronized National, Local and ARMM Regional Elections).
