CICclosing2015-44

Camp Efigenio C Navarro, Calapan City-the forty-five (45) days Criminal Investigation Course Class 44-2014R4B has officially concluded at about 9:00 AM of March 4, 2015 at Oriental Mindoro Police Provincial Office Conference Room, Camp Efigenio C Navarro, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro with PSSUPT RENATO AMADOR GUMBAN, Deputy Regional Director for Operations as the Keynote Speaker.

The said course aims to help police officers become more scientific in their work as police investigators. It focused on how to enhance the competency of the investigators and came up with the Investigative Capability Framework as its major priority to strengthen the PNP’s investigative capability. Instead of the usual witness-based investigation, today’s police investigators must consider the crime scene as the most reliable source of evidence to support the filing of a case.It was found out that one of the areas that need immediate attention is the lack of competent and effective field investigators who possess the skills and the right attitude to work on a case and pursue it until resolved by the courts.

This major breakthrough impels the full utilization of the trained investigators with the intention to improve crime solution efficiency and crime clearance efficiency, if not to totally eradicate crimes. Now, the training-equipped investigators are expected to carry out necessary skills in handling cases and pursue until the cases are resolved.

Out of fifty-one (51) graduates, PO1 Jenalou M Fajardo garnered the highest rating and ranked number 1 in the class with total points of 94.07%, PO1 Rea E DelaVirgen ranked number 2 with total points of 93.55 % and PO1 Annalyn F Macdon got the rank number 3 slot with total points of 88.67 % while PO2 Ronaldo S Rom received the leadership award for his valuable effort as Class President of the class.

PSSUPT GUMBAN was quoted in saying that, “ Necessary skills is very important in investigation in carrying out the necessary skills in handling cases and pursue until the cases are resolved, apprehend the offenders and bring justice to the victim”.
